The 'Ghoul'

The #8918 - Glow-in-Dark Ghoul Mask with Shroud assortment features more horrored expressions and purple airbrushing for shadow and contrast. They were first released in 1997 with cotton shrouds, though only for their first year and are quite rare on either shroud material. The 'Ghoul' was used for a longer duration on other product types such as the #8919 - Glow in Dark Mask with Droop Collar, #9219 - Instant Disguise, #8517 - Crypt Creature Gauze Mask, among seldom collected products from the later 2000s.

The ghouls feature more detail and anatomical depth than other mask assortments, as seen in an edited design sketch of the 'Corpse' ghoul by Brigitte Sleiertin-Linden.

The #8918 - Glow-in-Dark Ghoul Mask with Shroud was launched in 1997. This was the final year cotton shrouds were manufactured by Fun World, making cotton shrouded versions exceptionally rare. They originally came on pink 'party orb' header cards labeled Fantastic Faces and switched to the new 'bat & moon' aesthetic Fearsome Faces tags In 1998. Polyester shrouded masks from this product are equally rare, though less desired.

The 'Ghoul' was used on the #8919 - Glow in the Dark Mask with Droop Collar. Though the ghouls were retired fairly quickly after it's creation, The 'Ghoul' was continued through other products throughout the 2000s like the #8517 - Crypt Creature and Textured Horror Mask.
